DC governor DCS550-S01-0225-05-00-00is single axle (2-Q drive), 230-525 V. With its compact form factor and proven technology, the DCS550 is an ideal drive solution for machine manufacturers, both as a new installation and as a replacement for older analog equipment. The integrated crimping machine function, high-performance excitation power supply and multiple interfaces provide machine manufacturers with greater flexibility in equipment integration.

I. Integrated crimping machine function
DCS550 is equipped with crimper functionality with predefined macros for four common crimper types:
II. speed control
Calculate diameter and speed setpoint values. The diameter is used to adjust the speed controller for all web profile size. No tension control. All other macros are incorporated into the basic structure.
III. indirect tension control
Tension is controlled by means of preset charts of friction and moment of inertia (open loop). This construction allows for very reliable control performance, as there is no need to measure actual tension.
IV. direct tension control
Closed-loop control for actual tension values, tension measured by a dynamometer and transmitted as an analog actual value to the DCS550 DC drive. The DCS550 is equipped with a flexible PID controller that can be integrated into the control loop via tension control macros.
v. regulating roller control
Tension is controlled by adjusting the weight of the roller (closed loop). The adjustment roller must be kept in the correct position by other speed settings. The PID controller of the DCS550 also controls the positioning of the adjusting rollers. The position of the adjustment roller is transmitted to the controller as simulated actual values.
vi. debugging assistant
To make it easy to set up the crimping machine, all the different crimping types can be configured and debugged using graphical assistants. This assistant is part of DriveWindows Light PC tools. The friction and inertia ratings can be determined by automatic adjustment.
