    The 3-phase active unit is designed as an auto-commutated multilevel voltage source inverter. This multilevel topology enables the inverter to output optimized multilevel voltages, e.g. 21 levels at 6 kV and 33 levels at 10 kV line voltages.

    The main power supply is input to the drive by the input isolation transformer. The transformer converts the line voltage into the voltage required by the power module.     The auxiliary power supply must be protected against surge currents by suitable circuitry.

    •External 3-phase power supply for fan power (380 - 425 VAC)

    •External single-phase power supply for powering the control unit (100 - 240 VAC or 120 - 370 VDC)

    •With optional cabinet heater: additional external single-phase power supply (220 - 240 VAC)

    •External 3-phase power supply with PE and neutral (380 - 425 VAC)

    Control auxiliary power is supplied via single-phase and neutral.

    •With optional cabinet heater: additional external single-phase power supply (220 - 240 VAC)

    The inverter unit (INU) is part of the drive unit, i.e. it is located between the control unit and the transformer. The INU consists of a series of low voltage power modules (see Power Modules section) and associated control equipment.

    Three types of power modules are used:

    •Power module 0, system 0 (cabinet size R1, R2, R3)

    •Power module 1, system 1 (cabinet size R4, R5, R6)

    •Power module 2, system 2 (cabinet size R7, R8, R9)

    The power module is installed on the guide rail and fixed on the cabinet body with bolts, so it is easy to replace.

    •Free from corrosive gases, salts and other impurities that could damage electronic equipment

    •Dry; no condensation

    •Relative air humidity: 5% to 95%, no condensation

    If you are unsure whether the maximum permissible humidity is exceeded, use an external heater to protect spare parts.

    •Ground the body with a wrist strap before touching the component.

    •Place the assembly on a grounded work surface protected from electrostatic discharge.

    •Touch only the edges of the component when handling it.

    •Charging the capacitors of the power module:

    Power modules used as spare parts must be installed and operated in the transmission every 2 years to charge the capacitors, thereby reducing the risk of danger.
